COMMONWEALTH'S "YOUTH FOR THE FUTURE" PROGRAM

Nauru places great importance on the development of its young people. It sees its youth as the key to its future. In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Nauru gives special recognition and support to the Youth for the Future initiative and its four related components for technology and skills transfer and for fostering youth enterprise.

Nauru welcomes the establishment of the special program to address the needs of young people through strengthening members' ability to address poverty reduction through a systematic utilisation of a highly motivated younger generations' skills, knowledge and energy, and raising young people's awareness of and adherence to the Commonwealth's fundamental values.

Our people, and especially our youth, are our greatest asset. The Commonwealth's Youth for the Future is yet another positive development reaffirming the Commonwealth's commitment to the development of the young people, and for this fact, Nauru is most appreciative.
