          YOUTH FOR THE FUTURE PROGRAMME

The future of the world's youth is our common insurance policy towards preserving human civilisation and mutual support, as well as promoting economic and social welfare for all.

Youth for the Future initiative is timely and critical in order to galvanising the global community to render encouragement and assistance necessary for the youth to be able to carry out their mandate successfully as concerned catalysts, spearheading South - North partnership and South - South unity and solidarity.

The envisaged Youth for the Future Programme will provide both a vision and a framework for planning and action. Namibia unreservedly endorses this initiative and calls upon all governments, nations and peoples of the world to help the youth to assume their leadership role fully in the society, as recognised in the United Nations Millennium Declaration (2000).

Youth are already leaders in many sectors of the civil society. Let us inspire them to become champions of human security and defenders of the core principles and values we so dearly cherish in the Commonwealth.
