Youth of the Future Initiative
I highly commend the High Level Review Group for its proposed "Youth for the Future" initiative, which the Government of The Bahamas is pleased to support.
This dynamic and practical programme is fully in keeping with the priorities of the Government of The Bahamas to develop within our youth a keen appreciation for good governance, the rule of law and respect and tolerance for others, and to ensure their full involvement and integration in the process of economic and social development.
My Government is especially interested in training and business skills development, and in ensuring that our youth are in step with 21st Century technology. Therefore, the Commonwealth Youth Enterprise Development (CYED), Commonwealth Youth Volunteering and Commonwealth Youth Leadership Programmes are of particular interest to my Government.
I am delighted on behalf of my Government, to pledge ten thousand pounds sterling as financial support for the Youth of the Future Initiative.
