arrives in Brisbane - Commonwealth Secretariat News Release
Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon will visit Brisbane
tomorrow (Monday 1 October) to thank officials of the Australian
organising team for the now postponed Commonwealth Heads of Government
Meeting (CHOGM) for the enormous effort they have put in.
He will call on Queensland Premier Peter Beattie before leaving
for Sydney where he will discuss plans to reschedule CHOGM with
Prime Minister John Howard.
While in Brisbane, he will brief the media and later visit the
Commonwealth People's Centre at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition
Centre.
